Two bucks in California but at least one of them must be taken in the "A" (coastal) zone.
Most zones are "forkhorn or better" on one side but some zones are "3 Points or better" on one side.

1 buck only in Kansas, no antler restrictions except by the hunter. Unfilled buck tags revert to an antlerless tag for a late season the first week on January.

Pretty much 1-buck per year here in Montana. They govern all the units seperately, but when there are extra harvests being done as far as I know they're antlerless.

If the horns are shorter than 4", they are considered a doe and you can legally use a doe tag on it. How many doe tags this year toot. Last time I bought a deer licence, we were allowed 2 mule deer does and 2 whitetail does. Still the same?

2 bucks in Illinois....regardless of how many and/or what type of permit you have
Buck is defined as having one antler at least 3" long (I think it's 3"...might be 4"?)

Our wonderful DNR has let hunters in my area shoot as many as 5 anterless deer in the past. Regardless of weapon. Now they are back to doe permits in my area for firearms and either or in archery. Everyone is blaming the coyote for no deer. Go figure.

North Carolina
4 bucks in eastern counties, 2 bucks in central and west.
6 deer limit, unless you get additional/special permits.
