Jim,
Looks like you have in stock one of the barrels that I am waiting on.  The small shank 1 in 8" twist 223 Shilen .  Does that mean you can ship mine?

I can indeed. It just came in this afternoon. All I did was open the box and inspect it and add it to my inventory list.

I have just now sat down to cross reference my outstanding orders to my new barrels. I can ship this with tomorrows UPS.

Just got an update from Shilen. I should start seeing my original order of 6mm BR Barrels within 2 - 4 weeks. Not sure when yours will come in as several other customers ordered the 6mm BR Norma Barrels back in January and February. Shilen still owes me and several customers lots of Barrels.

Jim, any chance you have any 26" varmint 204R coming your way? Either flavor, been pullin my hair out to get this 12FV-s to shoot so may go the new barrel route. TB

KRP - I have the 28" 6mm BR that you requested. I have replied to your PM.

Too Builder - I had a McGowen 26" - 204 Ruger with a 11 Twist show up today but it was sold before I even got it posted. I do have New/Unfired Savage Factory 204 Ruger Barrels in both Blued and Stainless Fluted in stock. Your Factory Model 12 FV-S should have the Savage Standard Shank Action. If it does both of the Savage Factory Barrels will work.

Jim, one thing that I was wondering about these barrels.  Does either Shilen or McGowen leave enough meat on the barrel for a future setback?

That sort of depends on the contour you select. I have seen some sporter and light varmint barrels that have enough taper that a setback may be iffy. I have also sold several straight tubes that can be rechambered all the way to 18" if that is what they want to do.

See where rifle barrels cost $2 more to ship than carbine barrels.

Well, there is no doubt that the rifle barrels are worth it, but seems like this should fall under some sort of government subsidy for doing good.
