Hammer, Bottom line, I can get the packaged weight of the 26" Varmint Barrels to just under the UPS magic number and thus save you guys two dollars. Everything beyond that is just heavy enough to get nailed for the extra two dollars.

Hasn't any of the current presidential candidates promised to do something about this injustice for rifle barrels ?

Hammer, Now think about this for a minute. You are planning on having a Presidential Canidate decide the future on a firearms issue. You may as well send your collection to me now and avoid the last minute rush when the Canidate of your choice makes public their real plans.

Hammer, He must be a write in canidate. His administration certainly was small when compared to today's government.

Broncbob, If you guys would like some Swift Barrels just let me know and I will order you some. Current lead times at McGowen are only 4-5 weeks so I can have them here in a jiffy.

Big Dog, Here is a first hand report from the field on the McGowen Quality and Accuracy. If you go to the Firearm Accessories Section and then click on After Market Barrels you can look up some interesting feedback on McGowen Barrels. Any other questions, just ask. http://savageshooters.com/SavageForum/index.php?topic=14909.0Jim Briggs NSS
