Join us for a Savageshooters get-together here in Pa.

-The get-together will be on 6/14/08 from around 8am until dark(we can still hang out and chat, drink, etc after dark though).
-The shoot will be held at Mainville Sportsmans Club in Mainville, Pa.(http://www.mscrange.org/index.htm).
-If you wish to come the night before or stay overnight afterwards and need lodging, here's a link to a motel just a couple miles away.(http://www.super8.com/Super8/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=03748&brandInfo=SE)
-There will be a small fee upon arrival which will cover the costs of the food, targets, other supplies, prizes, and also a donation to the club for letting us hold this at their facility. Basically the whole club is ours for the day. The fee will probably be around $15-20, depending on the final cost of all the stuff.
-It will mostly be a shoot-the-sh** type of day, along with alot of shooting and some friendly competitions. We are planning a few competitions, but something we all can join in if we choose to do so. There will also be prizes awarded for these shoots as well.
- Along with all the other fun, we will be holding a couple raffles.
     1) We will be doing a raffle that everyone who shows up is involved in at no charge, just show up and I will put your name in. This raffle is for 2 people to win a 1yr membership to this site. This was donated by MrFurious, our site administrator. All I have to do is let Jim know after the event and he will make it happen. Thanks Jim.
     2) We will also be doing a raffle for a "store credit" for Northland Shooters Supply(Nothlander). These chances will probably be $20 each, with the hopes of getting enough chances to award the winner somewhere around $300 worth of credit. It would be nice to be able to get a new Shilen or McGowen barrel for 20 bucks Tongue.
     3) Our third raffle will be a gift certificate for a Pheasant hunt at the pheasant farm that viper9696 owns. This was just donated by him to help pay for some of the costs for the shoot. Thanks viper9696. You can find out the details of this at the shoot, but it sounds fun.
     4) I'm also thinking about doing another raffle for $1-2 a chance, with the winner getting all of the money to help  pay for their gas for coming to the shoot. I figure we'd get $30-40 easily for this and would go to a good cause.
     5) We are contemplating a couple more, but we'll see how it goes.
- I have also ordered hats and 3.5" stickers just for this event. The logo I chose for the hat is a crosshairs(like looking thru a scope) with "Savageshooters" around the top of it and "Pa Shootout" around the bottom of it, along with the Savageshooters web address written on back of the hat. The logo for the stickers will be the same crosshairs, but have"Pa Shootout" written around the top of it, and the Savageshooters web address written around the bottom of it. I haven't gotten a final price yet, but it looks like the hats will be $15 each, and the stickers will be about $1.50 each. I ordered 22 hats and 125 stickers, so bring as much money as you can so I'm not stuck with them Wink.
- Guests are welcome, as long as they have a Savage or you are willing to let them shoot yours. Just let me know if you are bringing a guest so we can get more supplies if we need to.
- As far as shooting guns other than a Savage, please see the thread on that subject. Here's the link(http://www.savageshooters.com/SavageForum/index.php?topic=14451.0).

-If there are any questions you can pm me(pdog06) or call me on my cell(484-880-9485), or pm Justin(pahog). I have the list of guys who have already committed, and if one of you cannot make it or if anyone else wants to come, please let pahog or me know so we can keep things straight.

**Just to make it clear, Justin and I are not running this to make any money or anything, we just want to get some members together for a meet-n-greet and have a good time. What we are doing is we will be putting all of the money collected (for the raffles, initial fee, hats/stickers,etc.) all together. Then we will seperate to make sure that we and the club are reimbursed for our expenses. Whatever money is left over will be part of the Northlander raffle or some other prize/raffle. **

See ya at the shoot Wink Grin,

Mike

Hey Mike, If I am free for the date you set, I will sure try to be there. I know I'm just one of these New York people since I moved here, but I got to have someplace to go with these get togethers. I can get to anywhere you all decide.

I am from Bloomsburg P.A. The shooting range I'm a member of is the Mainville Sportsman Club. We would love to have some of you fella's over. Here's the site with directions. Let me know if this location would help. We have 100-200-300yd ranges. Were home to three IBS matches a year. We have 35 benches,it's a Country setting and close to food and lodging, and we could camp out at range also if you would wish to. Also clubhouse and toilets http://www.mscrange.org/

We would donate range for weekend as long as nothing else is going on that weekend. We would open the kitchen and accept donations from anyone that wanted to give, to cover costs of targets and so on. My uncle is President of club, and he wants to open clubs eyes to new shooters and organization's.

As of now it looks like most of the people are w/i a couple hours of Harrisburg, with a couple possibly coming from the NY area and one near pittsburgh. So any range in the Harrisburg area would be a good place to be.
If we cant find one close to there, then an hour or so in any direction from there would work. That would probably be Pahogs range or the one in New Berlin.

We'll give it a bit to see if anyone else wants in or has a range to offer up, then I'll start pming guys to ask about a date.

I've been through Mainville a lot of times and I'm in Bloomsburg at least 3 times a week, never knew there was a range out there.  It looks like a nice club.

This sounds like a good opportunity. About a 90 minute ride for me. Egg shoots anyone?

I agree Ed, I think this would work out well for most everyone. I think it is about a 3 hr or so ride for me, but I'll drive that no problem.

wonder If I would be lucky enough to be out that way? Near quite often. If I get lucky in the timing I could get a rental car home instead of flying. current air prices it comes out about the same nowdays.
