But I need to learn your tricks to feeding shells into your center feed magazines.
Was at the range a couple days ago and wanted to try the magazine out on a new center feed. It was cold out and my fingers werent working very well but, I was having a heck of a time filling the magazine with ammo. Its a 22-250 so the sharper shoulder angle wouldnt allow the new shell to slide back into place even though I used my other hand to hold the top shell down. Is anyone else having an issue with this or is it just me? Ive got the HsPresision drop magazine on a remington that is center feed too but, having the magazine out where its easier to work with doesnt give me the same issues when filling it. So whats your tricks to filling your center feed magazines?

Mine is a 22-250 detchable mag but I ran into the same issues......
The best way I have found to load shells is to place the round on top of the feed lips in the same position as a loaded round. Then just push straight down. The feed lips on my mag are springy enough that they spread just enough to let the shell in......it doesn't take much force at all.
I've done this with 22-250's, 22-250AI's and 6mm rem.

Yep, straight down is how the center-feeds are designed to be loaded. The feed lips provide just enough contact area to hold the rounds in the magazine and have just enough spring to them to let them spread a little so you can push the rounds in from the top.

I stand on one leg..(must be the left) pat myself on top the head 3 times while rubbing my belly in a clockwise motion and sing the first verse of Yankee doodle dandy while blinkiing my right eye rapidly...... then I just push them in straight down....

Well, that's a very effective method, but standing up on the shooting table, removing all your clothing, and squawking like a chicken before you push straight down will also work well in most situations. It seems to be especially effective when the outside temperatures are hot.
