Senderofan, thanks for the pic, looks great!!
Mr. Briggs, I am kind of interested in a Medalist stock, but I assume I would have to order that else where? I was hoping to get every thing I need in one swipe of the card. Is the stocked action 12 with the VLP Varmint stock with the .473 bolt a blind mag? Is that stock the same as the BVSS stock? If I do have to order just the action and barrel, will I need to purchase other parts to have a blind mag or DBM to finish things? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks for your time!

319, Allow me to answer your questions: 1. The Savage Model 12 VLP Stocked Actions that I have available are the blind magazine versions. 2. The BVSS and the VLP are two different stocks. The VLP has a lower center of gravity and a sloping forearm angle. The BVSS has a much more parallel forearm and stock relationship. Several shooters like the BVSS off the bags. 3. If you order a Savage Action it will ship with the magazine for that particular Action as regular Action parts.
I do not have it here yet but I do have a Centerfeed BVSS Stocked Action coming in by early next week.

319, I do not have it here yet but I do believe it is a blind magazine rifle. Savage does not show a DBM Model 12 BVSS as an option. I am assuming the BVSS will be a blind magazine.

I sent you about 8 pictures...to the email address you posted. Hopefully they will provide you with the info. you're looking for? As I got my rig out...I'm reminded that I haven't even shot it once yet. Hopefully this Sunday afternoon.
Good Luck with your project...I couldn't be happier with how my project turned out and with my experience working with Jim!

Senderofan, I got the pix, THANKS!!! I think I am going to have to go with just the action and barrel, and get one of those B&C medalist stocks. I really like Lam stocks, but I want this .260 to be a little different. I am going to dura coat the whole thing and would hate to cover the nice look of a lam stock. Thanks again for the pix and info!!

No problem...Enjoy personalizing your new rig the way you want. That's what so great about the Savage....change barrels/calibers as you need them.
Good Luck....I can see where this might become an obsession.

lookin for a barrel and action. I am hoping you will have what I am looking for or close, also maybe steer me in the right direction. I am interested in a barrel action in .308 either the 10 or the 12 (lookin to place it in a bell and carlson tactical medalist A2 stock). Would love for it to have the drop magazine (I will modify the stock or look others if you do), but it isn't necessary. Looking for 1:10 twist and can be flexible on the length of the barrels. (please let me know what you have available). I would like the price and help on which one I want. Also may be interested in the stainless option in the 12. thanks kmcgillen@yahoo.com

Chris, I would have been very disappointed if it did not show up in the condition that I packed it in. Now get it together and then post some of your targets for the rest of us to drool over.

I ordered the nut wrench, go gages, and action wrench last night, so as soon as the barrels come in you will be getting a call from me for some assistance in putting it all together. I think I am more excited about that than I am about mulie hunting this year!

Westexhunt and Montana_Native, WTH - The Remington Ultra Mag loaded bullets are extra long. Savage no longer offers receivers that are long enough to handle these cases. They use to, you may be able to locate a used one through the internet. You can build one in any action as long as you limit yourself to a single shot.
M_N - The answer is yes. I do not currently offer any Stevens Actions that are set up for a 223. You could take one of the Stevens Actions and swap out the bolt head and the magazine to make it into a 223 action.

I'd be willing to wait on the Stevens 223 action. I am on an impossibly small budget. Any idea when one will arrive? Thanks.
