In the last two weeks I have received several reports of members committing to purchasing an item for sale in the classifieds and then backing out of it several days later.  I have also received a report where one member purchased an item, listed it back up for sale before even receiving it, and wanted the original seller to ship it to the second buyer for them.  Both of these practices are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

The classifieds work on an honor system, and if you commit to purchasing something by saying "I'll take it" then you're obligated to complete the transaction.  To ensure the integrity of this system is maintained we are taking the following steps to identify and reprimand any future bad buyers.

1.  A new "Bad Buyers" membergroup has been created.  Any member backing out of a transaction or otherwise abusing our the honor system will be moved into this membergroup.

2.  Those moved to the Bad Buyers membergroup will loose their access to the classified boards for a set duration of one month.

3.  If a member is placed on the Bad Buyers list more than once they will permanently loose access to the classifieds.

In other words, don't say you'll buy an item listed in the classifieds unless you're 100% sure you want it and plan to follow through with the purchase or you will suffer the consequences.

Reporting Deadbeat Buyers

When reporting a deadbeat buyer to the admins, use the "report to moderator" option at the bottom of the post or PM in which the buyer is backing out.  This will send us a copy of the post in the thread with that persons username so we can verify it and take action.  Also be sure to include a link to the classified listing where the buyer said they'd take it.
