Join us for a Savageshooters get-together here in Pa.

-The get-together will be on 07/18/09 from around 8am until dark(we can still hang out and chat, drink, etc after dark though).
-The shoot will be held at Mainville Sportsmans Club in Mainville, Pa.(http://www.mscrange.org/index.htm).
-If you wish to come the night before or stay overnight afterwards and need lodging, here's a link to a motel just a couple miles away.(http://www.super8.com/Super8/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=03748&brandInfo=SE)
-There will be a small fee upon arrival which will cover the costs of the food, targets, other supplies, prizes, and also a donation to the club for letting us hold this at their facility. Basically the whole club is ours for the day. The fee will depend on the amount of members who show up on that day as the supplies need to be paid for.
-It will mostly be a shoot-the-sh** type of day, along with alot of shooting and some friendly competitions. We are planning a few competitions, but something we all can join in if we choose to do so. There will also be prizes awarded for these shoots as well.
- Along with all the other fun, we will be holding a couple raffles.
     1) We will again be doing a raffle that everyone who shows up is involved in at no charge, just show up and I will put your name in. This raffle is for 2 people to win a 1yr membership to this site. This was donated by MrFurious, our site administrator. All I have to do is let Jim know after the event and he will make it happen. Thanks Jim.
     2) We will also again be doing a raffle for a "store credit" for Northland Shooters Supply(Northlander). These chances will be $20 each, with the hopes of getting enough chances to award the winner somewhere around $300 worth of credit. It would be nice to be able to get a new Shilen or McGowen barrel for 20 bucks . (Last year Viper9696 won a $280 store credit, and bought a McGowen barrel)
     3) Our third raffle if we have alot of interest will be a "store credit" for SinArms, another site sponsor. He sells Lothar Walther barrels, as well as Berger bullets and others as well.
     4) We're also gonna do another raffle for $1-2 a chance, with the winner getting all of the money to help  pay for their gas for coming to the shoot. I figure we'd get $30-40 easily for this and would go to a good cause.
     5) We are contemplating a couple more, but we'll see how it goes.

- Guests are welcome, as long as they have a Savage or you are willing to let them shoot yours. Just let me know if you are bringing a guest so we can get more supplies if we need to.
- As far as shooting guns other than a Savage, please see the thread on that subject. Here's the link(http://www.savageshooters.com/SavageForum/index.php?topic=14451.0).

-If there are any questions you can pm me(pdog06) or call me on my cell(610)216-7801, or pm Justin(pahog). I have the list of guys who have already committed, and if one of you cannot make it or if anyone else wants to come, please let pahog or me know so we can keep things straight.

**Just to make it clear, Justin and I are not running this to make any money or anything, we just want to get some members together for a meet-n-greet and have a good time. What we are doing is we will be putting all of the money collected (for the raffles, initial fee, hats/stickers,etc.) all together. Then we will seperate to make sure that we and the club are reimbursed for our expenses. Whatever money is left over will be part of the Northlander raffle or some other prize/raffle. **

There will also be an eggshoot on Sunday July 19th at the same place, and all are welcome to attend. if interested please contact Justin(pahog) thru a pm or email.

See ya at the shoot  ,

Mike

Just a recap for those who did not attend last year, or for some of the newer members of the forum.

Last year Pahog and I put together a little get-together at his range near Bloomsburg, Pa. We had about 18 shooters show up, about 13 or 14 were members of this forum. We had mostly just a shoot the sh$$ kind of day with alot of gossipping and normal target practice at 100,200, and 300 yards. We also had a friendly competiton of 300 yard shooting, starting with clay pigeons, then 1/2 a clay pigeon, then business cards with a 1" orange dot on it. It was pretty neat to see all those Savages shoot.

We also did a few raffles. We raffled off 2 free site memberships(donated to us by site admin Mr. Furious), then a raffle for a pheasant hunt(donated by viper9696), then another raffle where it was $1/chance and the winner took all(figured it would pay gas money for someone since it was $3-4/gallon). The biggest raffle was a $20/chance raffle for a gift certificate to Northland Shooters Supply, one of our site sponsors. The total amount was $280< in which the winner(viper9696) bought a new McGowen 6br barrel.

Not to mention tons of food and an all aroung great time.

We are planning some similar stuff for this year and hopefully a bit more, so if ya can make it we'd love to have ya. The more members the better it will be.

For more info about last years shootout, please feel free to browse thru the 2008 shootout thread and see all the info and post shoot pictures.

Thought of a team shoot, 5 man Teams drawn out of a hat. Each man shoots once at the teams target. All teams sharing a single rifle. Something along the line of a stock .223

Greg, I know it's far but if you can line up a delivery we'd love to have ya out here again. I'm sure it will be a last minute decision but thats OK.

Maybe you could pickup some ohio boys on your way Wink.

That may work if we have enough of the same rifles, or just use one rifle for everything. The number of guys per team would depend on how many show up.

Would like to just drive out in the suburban so I can load up Wink. not supposed to have firearms in a commercial vehicle.
Will depend on chance, gas prices and amount of profit earned by then.

Thanks for the warning Wink Cheesy Just kidding  I just need to know if any of these dates are not good for anyone.

As for me, any of the June dates I'm sure are fine, as well as one of the two weekends in July. The August weekend is out for me cause that is the weekend I'll be returning from prarie doggin in Wyoming. I hope to have no ammo left to shoot when I return Wink.So the best dates for me are the ones in June, but I'm sure I can swing one in July.

I can plan around any time. Now if you want to have a surprise birthday party for me and shower me with presents then the end of June! Smiley
