Case closed.
One could only hope! Apparently you dont understand that he used the word "army" as a loose term meaning military. Maybe not OUR military, but A military none-the-less. A military IS using them. Just cant understand why you're going thru so much just to try to prove someone wrong, when it was written in slang anyway . BTW, you forgot 5spds smiley face at the end of his quote

BTW, you forgot 5spds smiley face at the end of his quote Easy to forget to type a smiley, when you're busy embarrassing yourself and looking like a JackA$$. I know, I've done it too.

Looks like Eric gave ya the info you needed. Cant understand why you think you need model numbers, army ranks, and all that stuff . Does it really even matter who has them??? Why bash all the other members for no good reason? Why do you insist on 'bashing' me for asking 5spd to tell me what army uses Savage rifles? He stated that meaning OUR army and you know it. I realize we all love Savage rifles here, but an inference that the 'army' can get them but we can't, is just NOT TRUE, since the 'army' doesn't use them. BTW. I thought I mentioned 'CASE CLOSED'?

So...... you get to be rude and insult people and then say "case closed" so nobody else gets a say in the matter. Wow.

Can't believe this thing hasn't been thread jacked yet. Too bad.
Anyway, have you all seen pics of my new grandson?
Or my 220 Swift?

I do not believe I was rude for asking 5spd to back up his claim. I think enough has already been said in this thread, but YOU guys (the so-called virtuous ones) don't want to let it die! By 'case closed' I mean to say that I do not wish to discuss it further with anyone in this thread. If you think that is rude, too bad.

Back to the topic. I would like to at least see one of these rifles that we're all talking about. I think it's impressive that Savage is getting contracts like this and making deals for these rifles to be used for people who go into harms way. I'm surprised more countries and organizations aren't placing orders with Savage. I guess people still like to re-work remingtons.

I am surprised myself that Savage rifles are not being used by our army.

I wasnt bashing you at all. I actually gave you all the info you need in the post with the link to the Savage press release. I cant help that 5spd said "army" instead of "military". Maybe he did mean "army" as "our army", and was just mis-informed on who were using the guns. Dont really know cause he hasnt spoke up and clarified that issue. I'm just saying it doesnt matter. Lets just forget about what 5spd said and get on with the nature of this thread.
It is a big step for Savage to have a "military" contract( even though it isnt "our" military), and that is what this thread was all about. Hopefully someday this model rifle will become available to the general public cause it soulds like a sweet factory rifle.

I would like to at least see one of these rifles that we're all talking about.
Mr F. posted a pic of it on the first page of this thread. May be a while before we get to see any in person though, unless maybe you go to the Shot Show or something. Who knows, maybe Savage will just fit them right inline as being available like all their other LE rifles. That'd be cool.

Yeah I saw the picture on the first page and the website. I want to actually see, feel, hold, and put one to my shoulder though. The rifle looks like a keeper, but you never really know until you see one with your eyes and hold it. I agree that savage should put this in their catalog. They already made them all they have to do is take a picture and put the specs on paper. Maybe it'll be in the 2010 catalog.
