Well here we go.
Lets see what we can put together now that there are 8-10 months to plan.
I have wondered about having breaks during the day. Hey even the boss knows we do better work if we take breaks during the day. Also the weapons just might cooperate better if they can rest.
We will have some time to set up some shared rides.
Let's hear what you would like to see or do different next year

Mike For the last two years I have heard from members that they have to schedule their days off at least 6 months in advance. Hopefully we can get the date set before the first of the year allowing many more people to attend the next Indiana shoot.
ShaneG. Great Now jump in with some suggestions and NEW ideas. This OLD man can always use help.
A question for all who have been to the range. Will a cell phone work or are we out of repeater towers area of reception?

My cell phone seemed to work fine there didn't seem to have any signal loss,I use verizon.
BWB what what do you need ideas on? Maybe some sort friendly competion or challenge?
I'm sure with starting to discuss it now we could come up with something. I have never been to any kind of match or anything so i have no idea how they work really I just like trying to shoot stuff, but will try to offer up any ideas i can come up with.

Another nightowl heard from I have no idea what any other people would like to do. That is one of the reasons for starting this early. If we can get more feedback we can learn even more from each time we take our toys out for some excise. One of the reasons I mentioned breaks was to review how well we are doing and with other members available we can try suggestions to do better. Since gas time and ammo keep going up this would be a good way of getting more for each time out. FEEDBACK WANTED

Maybe do a Dum-Dum shoot like what's posted in the competiton forum if some wanted to get in on it or something similar. Just as long as it isn't too much of a problem with cleaning it up after.
Should have a lot of time to discuss and plan if it is around the same time as this years and should give more people a chance to plan ahead if they want to attend.

How about NECCO wafers, same 2x4 just cut a 1/4 deep slot and no wrappers. I suggested that type of fun and never one response last time.

i'm sure that would work also, those are a little bit larger aren't they, maybe 3/4" to 1"? Maybe use the Dum-Dums or something smaller for tie-breakers? Anything cheap and easy to get would work just need some rules and distances and you'd be pretty much set i would think soon as the targets of choice are nailed down. You could maybe do a rimfire class and a factory class and then a custom class depending on how many show up and want to join in. I would suggest doubling the range for Brad after seeing his post on the 990 yard ground hog shot.

NOW NOW Do NOT pick on Brad. We will let him show us how to bend strait pins with a 22LR at 500 yards I think he will do that. Give credit where it is due.
We can use any thing for targets from M & Ms, gum drops, suckers with the wrapper removed up to the NECCO wafers. All of these would be bio degradable. For a nice MIST we could try grapes or watermelon cubes. We have many months to try other targets of opportunity.

Sounds like a plan for most of us. You Fred and Brad will have to bend a needle in 1/2 with the first shot then straighten it out with the second shot. The one with the straightest needle wins a glass of branch water FEEDBACK WANTED

Here are some months and dates I can give you to decide on.
May 8th and 9th 2010
May 15th and 16th 2010
August 28th and 29th 2010
September 4th and 5th 2010
These are all weekend dates during my vacation time for 2010. Also have some in January, but figured that would be a little early for Indiana and warm weather. If your interested in a winter shoot I will post the January weekends.
Thanks and later, Brad

I would prefer warm weather. More enjoyable to me. I think the one of the May weekends sounds good.

Here is what I found for average temp in the area . This is for Wolcottville to Lagrange.
(LAGRANGE SEWAGE PLANT Weather station, 9.02 miles from Wolcottville) Month Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Annual Max °F 29.3 33.6 44.8 57.4 69.3 78.8 82.2 80.1 73.2 60.9 46.9 34.5 57.6 Mean °F 21.7 24.9 35.1 46.5 58.3 67.8 71.6 69.4 62.2 50.4 38.9 27.4 47.9 Min °F 14.0 16.2 25.4 35.6 47.2 56.8 60.9 58.7 51.1 39.8 30.8 20.3 38
Also remember April showers may extend into May I think if Brad can put up with us again, August would be the best time.
