Love mine.  Lightweight for a tactical/varmint/target stock...with a FLAT forend (great for shooting off the bags at PD's or target shooting), very good "feel" at the pistol grip, and good cheek weld.

I would stock all of my rifles with these.....but you have to mix it up..right!?!?!??

Not the tactical model.
The email I just sent B&C:

Rumor has it that the Medalist tactical stock(2999 style) is going to
be made for the Savage long action rifles.  Is this true?  I'd love to
buy one for my rifle.

Thanks.

The reply from B&C :

Possibly but I have not time frame on this.

So no long action love from B&C.

Choate on the other hand is working on his new tactical stock for the Savage long actions, which should be out "early next year" according to email.

The medalist that is out for the long actions is the Sporter style. It is almost like the Duramax, but with the addition of the full aluminum bedding block and monte carlo style cheekpiece.

To see it look at the thread in Stocky's Gunstocks vendors section. Here:

Very happy with mine.  Just ordered another one to put on a different action.  Great price too.
