Hi,

A week ago I placed a local want ad for an older double barrel for a restoration project/light hunting.  I now have the chance to buy a Savage 430 that the owner says is in excellent shape for its age.  I haven't been able to find out much about these shotguns, probably because they were only made for a few years around WWII.  Does anyone know a thing about them?  Are they mechanically sound?  What would they compare to in today's market?  I want to invest my time in a quality shotgun.

In short, I'd appreciate any info. you have on the model 420.  Thanks.
