Can I put one of the new Savage Acustocks on my older model 12 BVSS in .223? Is it as simple as unscrewing one and screwing the other in place?

Depends on if your BVSS is centerfeed.  If yes, then yes it will.

If it is a stagger feed, then no, it won't.  Screw spacing is different.

Nope, it will not work.
The accu-stock guns don't have the side bolt release, it has been moved to the trigger guard. On top of that they use a different recoil lug.
IMO the accu-stock is NOT the greatest thing made, it needs a lot of improvement. A good aftermarket stock if far superior in every way.
