"mortar Fire" I have a buddy that was shooting at 600yds w/ his 16" bbl 1:9 twist AR w/ 69gr. Sierras w/ a 1.25-5x scope . It went ok. When we moved to 1000yds. Out of 30 rounds, we couldn't even hit the target, not sure where we were at or if they were even making it. If they did, I assumed they were tumbling/ unstable. We decided to stop wasting ammo.
Wonder what angle of fire a 7.62x39 123gr. would need to hit the target- and what the position the bullet would be when it arrived

Just lay the target flat.

I think the vertical velocity vector is greatly larger than the horizontal velocity at that point.

I'll have to take the aperture sight off and place the original military sight on it.  Other than zero, I'm pretty sure that it has markings to 600 yards.

This sounds awesome. I have wanted to do this for a while and didn't know where or how to go about it. Only bad thing is I sold my heavy barrel savage not long ago Sad.
