I have one of the earliest Savage ML-10-I's that uses the Primer Modules.. They have become somewhat loose and leak around the nose when fired.. I am thinking, why not loosen the barrel nut and screw the barrel in a little more just like one would do to decrease the headspace in a CF Savage.. Would this work?? Need advise asap as ML season is on in TN. thanks in advance

Have you called Savage? They still service the 10ML -1, though it was only made for one year and it has been 10ML-II ever sense. The modules do eventually wear, so just just worn-out modules is what it sounds like. You'd like be better off with new modules rather than playing with the barrel nut.

I have a lot of experience with that gun, and what you ae describing will happen every X number of shots and the leakage gets worse and accuracy decreases.. Unfortunately replacing the module will not fix the problem. Only replacing the breachplug which also become worn will correct the problem. Even more inconvenient is that the gun have to be returned to saveage to replace the breachplug and properly fit it (headspace?)

I had to send mine back twice over the years. Eventually I got them to make me a deal to upgrade to a new ML II and could not be happier (I had to pay some money, it was not free)

There is a certain man you have to talk to there who is in charge, I will try to find his name if you decide to go this route. Good luck, I know this can be frustrating
