We've been seeing a lot of things here on the forum lately that are - shall we say - less than ideal behavior.  None of it is really bad, but it's taking away from the usefulness of this site.  We don't want to have to start cracking heads or ticking people off by removing posts, so for the time being we're going to ask that everyone try to police themselves when it comes to the list of items below.

1.  Turning member classified ads into discussions.
The classified's are for one thing, and one thing only....buying and selling.  For some reason though a good number of folks deem it necessary to turn someone else's ad into their own little general discussion area.  This needs to stop.  If your post doesn't contain a question about the item or an "I'll take it", don't post it.

2.  Turning Vendor Classifieds boards into discussion boards.
The same as above for the most part.  On January 1, 2010 we will be making all the vendor classified boards read-only to curtail this issue, but until then we ask that you stick to the subject.  These boards are for the vendors to post their goods for sale, announce special pricing, etc.  They are NOT for you to ask if they have this or that when it's clearly not listed or ask if they can do something that is outside of their listed services.  That's what the email and PM options are for.

3.  High-jacking someone else's post with a question that has nothing to do with the original topic.
This has been happening more and more as of late and it needs to stop.  It doesn't cost anything to create a new post, so stop the high-jacking.  It's considered rude and makes it that much harder for new people to find the info they want/need via the search function.

4.  Replying to posts/questions with no relevant information, just a smart remark.
I've been seeing a trend of this type of behavior the last few months and it's not conducive to being helpful or making new members feel welcome.  They're here seeking information, not smart @$$ comments.  For those of you who have been around awhile their questions may seem redundant or very basic, but remember...you to were once new to Savage's once and probably asked the exact same questions.

5.  Remember to update the status of your classified ad listings!
Every week I'm finding more and more classified ads marked SPF that are 30-45 days old.  It's your responsibility to keep your ads up to date, so be sure to update them to SOLD or PLEASE DELETE once you receive the funds from the buyer.  This will allow us to remove it so others won't have to wade through 5-10 pages of outdated/sold listings.

Thanks for the information

All the listed items seem to be fair and reasonable.

Thanks for the site and all the work to keep information flowing to all the Savage Shooters
