Ten years ago I bought a new Savage Model 24 over/under with the black glass filled nylon stocks.   I thought it was unusual in that the barrels were .22 lr and 12 ga. shotgun.   I am aware they normally were made in .22/.410 and .22/20ga.    The dealer said he thought it was an overrun from a gov't contract.   Can anyone add anything?

Gimme the letter and the first few numbers from the serial number and I'll have a look in that year of the catalogs but I'm pretty sure it's got nothing to do with the gov't.

Found it, it was called a model 24F "Predator" model and it came with the 22/ 12 ga offering.

A dealer will try anything to make the sale! Wink Cheesy

Thank you.    That itch has been scratched.   It seems like a nice combination--one would have thought it would have been more popular.
