Back when SSS was still dealing with Stockade guns. I purchased this Thumbhole stock for my 7mag. It is an awesome stock and the control is even better. This stock came with a 1" Pachamyr recoil pad which was made a night and day difference. WHHHHHHHHHEN will savage stop putting slabs of concrete on the back of an almost perfect rifle and calling it a recoil pad? WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEN

SSS laminates on the BVSS and LRPV, and a Choate USS for the 110 .308.

Couldn't get rid of the Tupperware fast enough.

I have the factory synthetic on my 116FCSS but I'm desperately searching for something else.  I can't seem to find anything to fit the 116.

Great stock.  Light too.  Brownell's carries them.  I added an adjustable kydex cheekrest from a m1a1 to get the right cheek weld for the large objective scope and my smallish face.   Short action in 7wsm.  shoots under 1/2" and barely kicks at all with the pachmayr pad and break.

Shooting Savage, or my Nikons....

Okay, finally back in with a short, non-scientific range report - post B&C Duramaxx installation.  Been to the range twice since changing from the tupperware.  1st time out got her zeroed in @ 100yds, shot a couple of 3 shot groups within an inch and felt good.  Rifle smoothed out a bit due to the stock's stoutness and better recoil pad.

Went today and put 30 rounds through her, still hitting well at 100yds when my staples Shoot-N-C came loose in the breeze while range was hot.  SO, I decided to see if I could come anywhere close to the actual size metal human sillouette (SP?) at the 300yd berm....... The first shot I held over by about 6" high, and hit dirt directly above head.  2nd shot I brought crosshairs to top of head..... boom..... TINK!  Next shot, same hold point.... boom..... TINK!

Shoulda seen the smile on this novice's face!!!  My shooting buddy asked if that was me (we'd commented about hearing the boom.....TINK last week when we sere shooting pistols), and I told him yep, those were mine, and all I got was an approving look.

I think the stock change was worth the little time and money that went into it.

Cheers all!
