I just purchased a Model 12 LRP 260 Remington. I haven't shot it yet. I've read posts on other forums (can't remember where) that said you should torque the bottom screws (screws that attach the bottom metal and stock to the barrel) on new rifles. Does anyone know if this is necessary? If so, what would be the torque amount (in inch pounds)? I guess it wouldn't hurt to do this. Any other thoughts?
Thanks

Just make sure they're tight. If you have to have a number, somewhere between 35-60 in lbs. i do 45 if my torque wrench is near by but usually just hand tighten them by feel. If you have stress free bedding it makes no difference.
