Shot this one this morning, 5 shots at 415yards, 1.438"

Location was in the Palomar Mountains in Southern California.

6000-7000ft elevation, 33 degrees, and snowing with a 2-3mph wind off an ATLAS Bipod and rear bag from an elevated platform, but we were almost level with the target.
Nice groups and nice area too. I mostly shot down in jamul or glamis.

Thanks! It was gorgeous up there. Happen to make a friend who has a friend with lots of land and a bunch of shooting buddies went up there for the weekend.

very nice group!! and isnt it amazing what happens when you clean your barrel...at 400 rounds accuracy was gone so now that youve cleaned it you need to keep close notes on how many rounds it takes before accuracy drops off again...im betting some where between 100 and 200 rounds and ill bet 150 will be your number. also if you want to make your cleaning easier ditch the sweets and the #9 and get a can of mercury powder tune for the carbon and a can of montana extreme 50BMG for the copper...if you get the MPT and 50BMG make sure you run a couple of patches of rubbing alcohol after each one to make sure you get it all out.

Hey LongRange the "mercury powder tune" you mentioned could that maybe be "mercury power tune" if not where do you buy this?

Finally got the to range to zero the scope on the .223 I built for my nephew on a LRP action. Ten shots, I was also testing the MDT .223 magazines, loaded with black hills ammo, 77grain SMK bullets.

Been there myself a few times but, it looks like your new rig is working out quite well for you though.

savage VLP .223 . The top left two shots were sighters just to make sure i was on the cardboard,it was rather windy today. Then i shot the three shot group that measured 2" . Next was my five shot group that measured just over 2" @450 .
I have the savage mounted in a choate tactical stock with a leupold 6-20x56 VXL on top .
I would say with some practice these groups could be shrunk quite a bit and laying in the mud ,shooting in the rain makes it interesting as well.
