Can a full RH bolt assembly be switched to a LH bolt assembly using a new bolt body and handle? Or are there other differences?
Trying to flesh out all of the mods I need to make on a "possible" new project.
Thanks gents,
Brandon

It can be done. You might need to talk to Fred at SSS on what he does to make it work. He converted a Rb RP to a Lb RP action.

Kinda like fast cars. Speed costs $$. How fast do you want to go???

Well looking at it, I have most of the parts, so I don't think that's the case. I think you only have to swap the bolt head, so it extracts the right direction, and the bolt handle. And cut the stock, unless you have a lefty stock. Either way I don't think there is too much involved.

And the doodad that goes right between the handle and action, with the ball bearing detent.
The empties will still need to eject to the right. It's more involved than just switching out parts. I have done a lot of builds and action work, but will certainly have Fred from SSS do mine. His work includes a Time and True job.

You'd need to slot the action on the left. Fill the action on the right. You'd also need to cut the bevel in the abutment lugs.
You'd need a left hand bolt- head, handle, baffle and body.
You'd be in a couple hours of setup and machining and over a hundred dollars in parts.
You'd be more wise to sell the RH and purchase the LH you want.
Wait... I assumed you wanted a right port / left bolt. If you want a traditional left handed action, I would have to agree with grinder, you might as well sell what you have and get a lefty.

Nope, don't want a LBRP. The original question is just what is required to turn a right bolt assembly into a left bolt assembly, spoke nothing of an action. Which would be some machining, if I wanted to change the port side. He's why, I am looking at an older, pre 66 110 lefty that is in good shape, it's just a 7 mag, which I don't want. What I do have is a new to me Shaw 243 8t barrel looking for a home and don't want to put it on my hunting rifle. The early 110s had a goofy bolt head and barrel, so rather than being happy with one bolt for two guns, I thought I would put together a second bolt from parts. Whew, that was a lot.
Make sense?

Oh, I have a handle, bolt body and a few other bolt parts. Was going to maybe buy the LA RH bolt assembly that is in the classifieds right now to round out the parts list.

The body seems the same whether left or right. Which was the original intend when they designed the 110, to make it easy and cost effective to make a lefty in the first place.

The bolt bodies are different between left and right. Think about it, LH and RH cock on bolt lift. One cocks on clock-wise, the other cocks on counter clock-wise.
