Barrel broke in about 150 rounds down the (20 in) bull barrel, 150 grain winchester power point, and a box of 180,win, pp will sight in for dead on at 220, yards The 150,a are every were to buy, how they shoot is another thing

For ground hogs, I'd try some Nosler Varmageddon 110 grains. They can be a little pricey, but you can catch them on sale at MidwayUSA from time to time.

It's hard to say, as every rifle is different. My .308 has a 22" sporter barrel and a 1in10" twist. Average group with the varmageddons @ 100 yds is usually around and 1"+/-. Like I said, some barrels will prefer one ammo over another. Only one way to know if your rifle will group them good. Buy a box and try them out. Hope this helps.

If you're hunting anywhere around houses 150 and up is too heavy for ground hogs.If you miss that bullet won't blow up in the dirt and could ricochet anywhere. There are some excellent varmint bullets out there for the 308. Mine likes the Speer 130 gr varmint HP.
