As the gunsmith who I did my apprenticeship under always said, your fingers can see more than your eyes. If you're not getting massive cratering, I wouldn't worry too much. If you deprime and the anvil separates from the cup, then I'd start worrying to the point I'd have it looked at.

I popped one of the primers and it came out completely intact. It certainly is far from massive cratering, but I have looked at several pics around the web, and it causes me a little concern. I am posting some pics on my flat primer question thread.

I've yet to pop a primer. I have swelled the back out quite a bit. Then again, those were my 5.56 loads....

No.No. What I meant was that I deprimed one of the spent primers and it was the same as all of the others. My bad.

Wait until you deprime and they separate. Still haven't figured out why it's doing it with my two best 308 loads...

I answered in your other thread but while reading here another thought (dangerous at times) check the end of your firing pin for smoothness, should be slightly rounded and no sharp edges or angles.
I have many anvils come apart when de priming I don't pay much attention to it.

No sharp edges, but I flattened it slightly and shortened just a bit. It did help. Have a few BR4's to try. I'll report if they look better.
