so i shot two 5 shot groups today. more wind but ok.
ave is 1.3" or about .65 moa....still under my limit of 1 moa.
need to load more and establish 100/200/300, 600 zeros.
not sure were i can do 400,500, 700,800, but would like real world data.
( the more i shoot this scope, the more i want a better one....night force, IOR)

Which scope do you have now?

Which scope do you have now?

a vortex viper hs-t with the vmr-1(moa) reticle it is about a $650 scope
my criteria for scopes is to spend as much on the scope as you do on the rifle.
there is a leupold 8.5-25 that is about $1000 which is what this rifle cost new.
thinking hard about it.

so i did some internet shopping and found this
Leupold VX-3i LRP 8.5-25x50mm 30mm Side Focus TMOA Riflescope, Matte, 172345it is as low as 815 on ebay, but i hate ebay.
i bought from sport optics with delivery tomorrow.
i hope it is clearer and less issues with parallax.

so that was another 12 rounds down the bbl, and so far ZERO copper.

Sounds like you got yourself a jewel of a barrel.

I have a Viper PST 5-25x50 on my BVSS. Also MOA reticle and turrets. I haven't had any parallax problems with it and the scope adjustments have maintained repeatability. It is a SFP if that makes a difference. I rarely change it from the 25x setting so it works for me.

I'd not turn down a Leupold either. Hope it works better for you.

So the big news is i screwed up the loads for the previous data.
i used the wrong lot of primers.
for zeroing the new scope and establishing 100/200/300 yards zeros...the correct formula was used.
at 100 i have .63 but twice i did 2 shot groups at .101 and .120.
at 200 i have .528 which is .269 , this is up 2.5" from 100 and left .5
at 300 i have .824 which is . 275 , this is up 3" from 200 with no windage adjustment.
the cross hairs do not cross but with an open in the center. tuff for small groups at short range,
but fairly easy to center up on as the distance get longer.
the new scope fits the job very nicely.
life is good

and now i have over 50 rounds thru the bbl
WITH NO SIGNS OF COPPER.
pretty amazing
i have tried a couple of copper solvents just to make sure...
no blue/no green
