mjbgault, in this case, My vote is go with the Jard. It’s a hunting rifle, right?, get the 20 oz. model.

Probably going to buy the jard and put it on my 6 arc and move that accutrigger to this receiver. And I am not exactly a gunsmith but not completely helpless either :)

Doesn't Savage sell replacements? I don't think their trigger is too bad. Surely if would be far less than $220.

They don’t sell parts to common folk. Only licensed FFL Gunsmiths.

Savage told me this morning it would be $53 plus shipping and tax for the whole part. I am going to do that. It just needs sent to a dealer or gunsmith.

So, how are you planning on getting a Gunsmith to accept a factory part, which YOU paid Savage for and give it to you without making a buck on the transaction? Are you counting on some gunsmith doing it out of the kindness of their heart? I’m thinking any gunsmith will insist you purchase through them(which means price mark up), and the smith doing the install.(labor fee) Good luck.

I notice he said 'gunsmith or dealer'. I'd bet I could get it through my Sportsman's just through their normal transfer fee. I might try that.

Just to make sure. Was $53 the cost of a red blade accutrigger or just some parts?

OOPs, forgot this was an Axis, so std trigger assy.

Charlie,
I took his post to mean $53 for JUST the Cast Aluminum trigger bracket, not the whole trigger assy.

But hell man, if you think you might be able to get that FFL to get Savage parts for you, I’ll give you money for some. I’d like to have some spare parts. Especially Sears! And I’d love to do you trigger work on a Red blade trigger, target trigger.

Entire assembly $53. And I have two friends who are gunsmiths so I am sure they will be ok with ordering for me

I stand corrected. Very COOL! Good stuff brother. Glad you got it sorted without too much expense.

Is this the Accutrgger or the standard? Would there be any difference in price?

I am sure the accutrigger would be more. This is the old style.

Thanks for the info on that.

Dave, I was referring to Sportsman's Warehouse. In NM all licensed dealers are required to offer their services for firearms and parts transfers. They are a Savage dealer and they offer gunsmithing services.

Just to follow up, my friend with the FFL and gunsmith shop was able to order it for me, and said they were extremely good and helpful while he was on the phone.

Awesome! Make sure to let us know how it goes when you get the new parts in.
