Does such a video or schematic exist?

So I can visualize what happens internally when the safety is forward (on) or back (off).

The early 1899 safety just locks the trigger. When pushed forward, a piece of metal slides above the trigger keeping it from being pulled. Pull the safety back, the piece of metal is no longer interfering with the trigger and trigger can be pulled. This is on a rifle made in 1899.

That seems fairly simple and idiot proof. What defines early vs later and how do later ones work, unless you define early as those prior to the safety being relocated to the top tang/thumb safety?

I'm holding a 1959 99F receiver, and it works the same way though the cosmetics have changed somewhat.

I don't have a tang safety rifle to compare to.
