I have all 3 Models (1907,1915 and 1917) but my question pertains specifically to the 1915 and the Magazine "Hold Open Device" and how it operates, or better how the magazine "interacts" with the hold open. I understand that the magazine, for the Model of 1915, from Browers book (pgs.#203-204 pic on pg. 204) says that the 1915 has a "slide hold-open lip along the upper edge". Even with the photo from the Brower book I still am unclear on what exactly he is referencing re: the "lip".
I don't have a 1915 magazine and the 1907 and 1917 magazines will not fully seat in the 1915. I was wondering if I might be able to modify a magazine to work with the 1915 and how exactly to go about doing that.
Any suggestions and/or photos that show an original 1915 mag and a comparison shot of another mag and the one for the 1915 would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!
(I did do a search on this site but all the older threads I found have photos posted in "photobucket" and they are no longer viewable.)

On another site someone was kind enough to provide a photo to clarify what the cutout and the lip on the follower look like! Has anyone here had any success or attempted to modify a Savage magazine to work in the 1915? (I'd use an aftermarket mag for this of course).

Any standard magazine will fit in a 1915 if you remove the hold open bar, it just slips in or out and is held in by friction from a small spring - just don't lose it!
