New factory 5 round mag too narrow?

Just picked up my new Mark ll BTV today. The factory 5 round magazine will not allow me to insert neither a live 22LR nor a plastic dummy. The rims of both are wider than the magazine. Has anyone experienced that problem? Is there a fix?
Yes, I have sent an email to Savage but while waiting thought I would ask the experts.

Yep, I have the same problem, I called Savage and they sent me new mag.

Thanks. So, you called them rather than emailing them?
I emailed on June 1 and it has been a week without a response. Guess I should call next week.

Always call Savage when you have an issue or need something. They're horrible at responding to email.
