I've owned my Savage 11 Trophy Hunter in .308 Winchester for around 6 years or more. At the end of last year, 2023, I decided to ditch the lightweight plastic stock that came with my Savage and bed it into a Boyd's Prairie Hunter stock. I went with the forest camo laminate stock and it's absolutely gorgeous! Boyd's supplies the trigger guard and bottom mag plate for an additional cost but decided to go with a trigger guard and bottom mag plate from Concealed Concept Weaponry (http://www.ccw-mfg.com). I went with CCW's set up over Boyd's bottom plate due to the fact that it tends to flare out and I like the overall appearance once installed. I have not bedded the stock yet but will post pictures as soon as I can. I'm new to this site so I will be adding to this post once I'm established on here.

I've never glass bed a rifle so this will be my first and I will certainly take any and all advice from those whom are proficient.

Thanks and stay-tuned!

Welcome!

Go to this link. It’s a long one but right now the member is on the bedding part of his build. Might be a good read for you to get familiar with the process.

Just make sure to prep the stock and you can’t put too much of the release agent on the parts you want to be able to un-stick. Oh and don’t over torque the back screw when you reassemble or you might crack the stock. I think Boyd’s has the max published on their site.

I contacted customer service and they gave me the specified torque settings so good to go there. As far as applying enough release agent, I've watched a ton of YouTube video's on this so I will apply that stuff pretty liberally.

Here’s some images of the trigger guard and bottom plate from Concealed Concept Weaponry (https://www.ccw-mfg.com).
I haven't glass bed it yet, this is just the fitment stage to check if everything functions; magazine seats and bolt opens and closes freely. So far everything is looking great!
