1914 vintage 1899 barrel mount sling swivel

I have a 1914 H model 1899 in 250-3000 (tel:250-3000) that is missing the barrel mounted front sling swivel. There is a lug” on the underside of the barrel about 1/4 inch wide and 1.5inches long where it apparently mounts but I cant’t figure what the swivel looks like, how it attaches or where I might find a replacement. It has a shallow #10 hole in the middle but it is very shallow and no threads that I can see. I have a picture but haven’t figured out haw to attach it so far. Any help appreciated.

Very few rifles came from Savage in 1914 with swivels, and they were all fancy special grade rifles. And the standard studs from Savage were just sling eyes that screwed into the stock. So yours would be an aftermarket one.. and we'll need pictures.
