Need .308 follower for older Savave Model 10

I have an older Savage Model 10 (short action, began life as a .223 Tactical). The bolt head has been changed and it is now rebarrelled to .308 Win.

This is an internal box magazine design and the .308 cartridge does not work well with the original .223 follower.

Can anyone advise where I can find a .308 follower (or follower & spring). Gun Parts Corp catalogs this part but is out of stock.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Since the part is no longer made, Your best bet is to put a want ad in our classified section(and on any other forums you go on).

If your 223 mag box has the block at the rear of it you will need to get the 308 follower AND mag box.

The 243 mag box and follower will also fit and work if sourcing used parts. Have you also replaced the front baffle if it is the long one??

Also if you are able to find the parts, keep the original box and follower because as said they are no longer in production and are very hard to find.

Check Ebay, I've found many parts there when I couldn't find them at Gun Parts Co or elsewhere.

I would confirm Stagger or Center Feed before I moved forward. Your original post is ambiguous.

A 308 cartridge will never work using a 223 box. You need the whole 308 size magazine, spring and follower.
