Place bolt handle on bolt body as shown. Thread BAS onto rear of bolt body one or two turns, making sure threads have caught.
Push cocking piece pin up cocking ramp and over "hump" into cocked position.
(Suggested technique: hold bolt in right hand as shown. Push cocking piece pin with right thumb.)
Hand tighten BAS by turning clockwise.
After once again making sure rifle is unloaded and chamber is empty, insert bolt into receiver while pulling back on trigger and pressing down on cocking indicator.
Point rifle in safe direction and pull trigger to place the bolt in the fired position.
Using allen wrench, tighten BAS the rest of the way.
Technique: During final tightening, do not hold the stock against the force of the allen wrench, as this places all the torque on the action screws holding the receiver to the stock. Instead, place allen wrench above the bolt handle and squeeze allen wrench and bolt handle together. By doing this, all the torque is used to tighten BAS while stock and action screws are not stressed.
Bolt lubrication is important, but should be covered separately.
That's it. I hope reading this was helpful.
