Is 8 weeks the average wait time?
took 14 weeks for me
Monday will be 11 or 12 weeks for me but thats because they are perfecting a new fluting technique. so...
Just ordered a 28" bull in 260ai 8tw from Jim. Can't wait to get it set up. Finally founds some dies, just got to get brass and bullets now.
I'll post up some results when put together.
Criterion will be raising their pricing as of September 1st 2011. I do not have all of the details at this time but I have been advising customers that this day is coming and it now appears it is locked in as to when it will happen. More details as they develop.

Hi Jim,
What will be our 'drop dead' date to order under the old prices? I have several more barrels that I would like but I need to budget the money right now for those 'futures'.
Thanks,

Bob,
As far as I am concerned any order placed through the end of business on Aug. 31st will be at the current pricing. Criterion offered me some extremely good pricing to bring their Button Rifled Match Grade Barrels to the market. I was able to get them to agree to a one year period for this new product introduction. That time frame will be up as of Sept. 1st 2011.
I have been very pleased and pleasantly surprised at the level of quality that Criterion has built into their barrels. Between this quality commitment from Criterion and the level of support (product sales) from the Criterion Customers, I would have to say that the product introduction went extremely well.

Jim do you happen to have any 7mm RM criterion barrels in or on the way?
319,
I do not have any CBI Barrels being made that are chambered in the 7mm RM. I can have one here in about 8+ weeks if you would like one.

I got the call from Brenda today, barrel ought to be here mid-week sometime.
Any of you guys with a 260ai happen to know the neck diameter of the chamber?
It is within 2 thousandths of a turn chamber with my lapua brass (15thou neck thickness), so approx a .296. It is nice, case necks barely expand and actually still grip a bullet after firing.
Thanks for that number,I'll double check mine when it comes in. 7mm-08 brass loaded measured about .2885".
Necked down WCC 09' 308 brass measured about .2925".
finally got to shoot groups at 600 yards with my 28 inch 6br criterion mod 12. best two were 2.54 and 2.76 . i am not a great shot or condition reader yet but am pleased so far. guess ill order one for my 6.5x284 and see....
Barrel got here about 20 minutes ago..mounted up and ready to go fireform brass soon as I mount my scope!
Thanks Jims it went on smooth as could be and looks awesome.

I received another three cases of Criterion Barrels. The only barrels not shipped yet are those that are still being made and a few that are waiting on reamers. Brenda has another 15 barrels going out on Monday. She will be calling you when your order ships.

GaCop, I had much the same issues with my 260 load development. I tried IMR 435, RE-15, & Re-19 with results that I was not satified with. I knew the rifle was capable of much more. For me, the answer was H4138SC. With 120 Gr SMKs, it shoots well uner .5 MOA when I do my part.Quote:

Just got my heavy sporter 243 win in today. Man it looks good. Very fine finish and hopefully it shoots as good as it looks.
As many of you already know the one year introductory period for the Criterion Barrels will be ending as of 9/1/11. Here is a link to this announcement - http://savageshooters.com/SavageForu...c,43544.0.html
Before anybody panics, this new pricing will not take effect until 9/1/11. If you would like to get a CBI Barrel prior to this date just let me know.
