Re: long action ideas
Thanks for the data when I screw around with velocity, I always use light bullets they spike less, I can only imagine what the numbers would be with heavier ones, my first shot was 4100 2nd 4110 3rd 4115 FPS it's a 10 twist opposed to the usual 9 that's worth a few fps.

Re: long action ideas
Calib I also have a 6-06 AI and found data to be a bit scarce. I have used 240 Weatherby loads and always have to bump up from there. I also interpolate from 25-06 AI data in my sierra manual using the next heavier bullet weight. I have only shot mine about 70 times but it sure is fun. I used a 30" blank, had it threaded an extra inch, and finished out at 28.25". This way if I burnt it up developing loads I could have it setback and rechambered.

Re: long action ideas
is the 6-06ai same as 240 weatherby?

Re: long action ideas
Close but the 6-06AI has greater powder capacity than the .240 Roy.
According to Ammoguide the 6-06AI holds 69.3gr of water and the .240 Roy holds 62gr.

Re: long action ideas
I should have clarified a bit. I use the .240 weatherby data to fireform with and second firing is loaded past the .240 data. I have never really wrung mine out, only loaded 70gr fireform and 90 and 95 gr bullets for group.
