Very nice setup, liked the evolution!
I haven't updated this thread in awhile. During my last range session a few weeks ago, I found my scope moving due to recoil, again. When I got it home to clean it, I found that both rings had snapped off cleanly on one side:

I contacted Vortex and they told me that the Tactical rings are really just designed for red dots on rifles with lower recoil... although they say you can use them for a scope if you lap them (which I did). They helped me out with replacements and I picked up some 30mm Pro Series low rings. The low Pro Series rings (0.9") are 0.07" higher than the Tactical rings (0.83"); not a big deal. I got the rings in yesterday and remounted the scope. I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to zero it again.
I also took some Aluma-Hyde II in "Earth Brown" to my 3D-printed quiver and my bolt handle... because I could:

It's a decent match for the Magpul FDE and the MDT FDE.
I'm also awaiting a replacement muzzle device... more to come...
I've installed my Vortex Pro rings and my 3D-printed extra round holder. I haven't been to the range yet, but I'm guessing the holder is going to give out before the rings. I don't think even PETG plastic is up to the task of .308 recoil. Maybe if I print it thicker.

New member here and just enjoyed reading your thread. You do very good work. I am curios how the rifle shoots now ... good groups?
I shot it last week outside at some steel... but I've yet to put rounds on paper since reinstalling the scope. I'll try to post some targets!
Wow just saw the pic of those rings.
Just from looking one wouldn't think that a set of 6 screw rings billed by a major player in the firearms industry as part of a "tactical" lineup would be that prone to breakage.
Live and learn.
