Not a bad rifle. I threw in my 110 long action/22" 308 heavy barrel/McMillan HTG in for comparison.

I've already talked to my machinist and I'm going to have the barrel chopped 4" down to 22" and threaded for a flash suppressor (to protect the crown when out in the field in case of a spill).
I want a better stock but I'm on the fence on what to get. This factory stock is just awful but I can't complain for the price. IMHO, if the rifle was missing the stock, it would still be a great deal. I'll eventually convert it to take detachable box magazines.
It will be interesting to see how it shoots with the current stock. I hear they still shoot good. It has metal pillars underneath that molded plastic.
Tony.
I put my 223 in an H-S Precision pst114 stock. I got the bottom metal and magazine direct from Savage. It shoots amazing after working a few bugs out. It will regularly shoot in the .1s and .2s with 53gr vmax.
I submitted mine via phone back on 11/11. So far it just shows it as received. Patiently awaiting approval.
Finally got the 6.5CM out, fun gun with the heavy barrel! My next 12fv shows shipped:cool:
Ordered 11/21 picked it up this afternoon. More parts coming Monday.
My 6.5 shows shipped so I expect it'll be in next week. Any off the shelf and hand load recommendations?
This is my .223 12FV in a Bell and Carlson stock with DBM.

Noice Rig.
CDI. Will cost about 220 including the hardware. It functions well.
Whats everyones favorite scope mounts for these? I tried Leopold 2 piece but didnt like how the rear hung in the port. I now have some Talleys on order.
Warne, EGW, or other quality one-piece cross-slot base (with a 0, 10, 20, or 30 MOA cant depending on what you plan to do with it). I just put a 0-MOA EGW base on my .223 12FV Cabelas Special, as it's my current designated "spend the day sittin' at the bench shooting tight little groups at 300 yards (with a cheap to feed, relatively quiet and recoil free rifle) and BS'ng with the regulars at the range" rifle.
This particular range (15 minutes from my door) has 100/200/300 yard rifle lines, and all rifle shooting is now restricted to the bench (no standing/prone/sitting/kneeling anymore) because of some F-Ups that happened a while back. If they had 400/500/600 lines I'd have installed a 20-MOA base.
I will check them out.
I miss when my parents lived in the country, we had out to 800 yrds or so.
For my own non-scientific reasons, I prefer one piece steel scope rails on my bolt receivers. In my local precision events, the rifles and scopes do get handled and banged around a lot amongst all the barriers, rooftops, port holes, etc. Shooters including myself will at times just pick up our rifles from the scope tube itself. I know the steel rail wont go out of alignment versus posibly a similar thin piece of aluminum. Again, non-scientific but one less thing for me to worry about. Anyway, I use a Leupold Mk4 Steel 20moa base and UTG Pro precision rings on this 12FV in 223 and will do the same for the 6.5 Creedmoor. Results at 100 yards from today's break-in using cheap ammo:

Thanks for the pics Sterling, nice looking too. If anyone one else has pics of different setups that would be cool, if they would like to share. I have been searching for pics, but not much luck other than a predator thread.
