MrFurious your build looks great as it was the first in the Pro Hunter stock. I haven't finished up the final details on mine yet, but I'm quite happy with the way it has come along.

No I haven't. My reloading equipment has been boxed up most of the summer (and still is) due to a remodeling project. Hard to setup your reloading equipment when your shiney new reloading area still doesn't have a work top. LOL I'm also waiting on a replacement upper cabinet since the first one they sent me was damaged. Hopefully those two things will both be resolved in another week or two.

Can't upload images to the forum, they have to be hosted on another site like PhotoBucket and you post the IMG code they provide here.

I assume we'll start seeing more pictures in this week as the Boyd's stocks start hitting the streets. This thread will hopefully turn into a one stop shop for all the configurations that people will come up with for their Axis rigs. I myself will have another new item to show off hopefully by this weekend time frame!

Hey fellas, this is my first post. I've only had my Axis for a few months. I bought the .223 threaded (SR) version a while back. I was initially disappointed with the accuracy, but in defense of the Axis, I was shooting the cheap 55 grain stuff. I started hand loading to see if that would help, starting out with 65 grain Sierra Gameking bullets. The accuracy on this rifle is pretty good now. It is shooting under MOA at 100 yards. I worked on the trigger early on and got it down to 2 lbs 5 oz, but wanted better. I decided to invest in the Basix trigger, which got me down to just under 1 1/2 lbs and passing the safe tests.
I have been following Lonewolf's build and I might pull the trigger on the Sharp Shooter Supply (SSS) stock soon. For those that have the SSS stock, did it come with swivel studs, or did you install them? Do you use the factory recoil lug, or does one come with the SSS stock?
Anyway, here is a pic of mine as it is. The flash suppressor I put on for looks. I took it off later, but may put it back on if I can verify it doesn't negatively impact accuracy.

I moved the factory recoil lug and sling swivel studs from the factory stock to my ProHunter Stock. Took a few minutes to reinstall them. I drill a hole smaller than the threads on the studs but no deeper than required and screw them in!
Just an FYI, in another month or so I will probably move this entire thread to the Pictures Post board where it should be. I'll leave it here in the meantime to get the ball rolling as all the new stock pic's start rolling in.
I guess I'll add these to the file:
Axis Pro Tac stock from SSS.

Can you post the link to that stock? I didn't see it ^^
Lonewolf, you need to empty some PM's in your inbox.
Just a suggestion to Sharp Shooter Supply, I think it would be a good idea to include a little information about the new Pro Tac stock on your webiste. I know it is not available currently, but a COMING SOON would definitely let a lot of people know about it, especially those that are not familiar with SavageShooters.com. Thankfully, LoneWolf told us about it. I was about to make up my mind on an aftermarket stock and had no idea about the Pro Tac stock until I saw the one LoneWolf has. I might have gone in a totally different direction had I not known about the Pro Tac.
Not mine, but a pic I came across. EOTech with a 16" BBL. Bet it's a lot of fun.

Decided to try a new camo pattern this week as after looking at the tiger stripe version I wasn't fully satisfied with it and felt I could do something better.
I went for an ATACS SnakeSkin theme and am quite happy with the way it turned out. The pictures do make it look much more tan than it actually is though, so I tried to get some different lighting. Let me know what you think!

Goal is to try and get it on the range next weekend. for some 100 and 200yd groupings.
Got some in natural Lighting. These do it much more justice.

The new paint looks a lot better in my opinion. A lot more time involved.
Ya I did take a little more time and kept working the color until I was satisfied with the transitions. I think it would be a lot more effective honestly. Every time the light hits it the color comes out a little differently depending on the angle.
That looks sick LoneWolf! Sooo much better than the green/yellow. It blends really well. What kind, and what color spray paint did you use, or is it airbrushed? What kind of net did you use? Again, it came out awesome.
I bought a soccer ball bag and cut it into smaller pieces to work with.
Here's all the items I used:
http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1382915794
Did a base of tan and started with some heavy dark brown snake skin tiger stripes then thought about how much I like the ATACS and decided to blend it all into an ATACS like Snake skin combo. I finished by very lightly through the netting dusting with the grey primer for a lighting affect without changing the colors. 3 Coats of clear and called it a day.

triger job
bob fortier stocks
That looks REALLY good LoneWolf. Nice job.
Dark, That looks good! Would like to see some better photos of it. I like Bob's work!
Thanks Nick it took me awhile to feel good about it and the pictures still don't do it justice! Wish I had the coin to have the barrel fluted and media blasted. I think that would bring the whole rifle together and cut back some weight.
I work out of my town and when i return at home in 2 week i take a new pic

Looks good I ordered the same stock can't wait to get it. How do you like the vortex scope?
I haven't had this scope hunting yet but it seems bright and clear at the range. It's held zero for over 100 shots and tracks well.
If I was to complain about something , it's that it seems a little picky about where you place your eye and not a lot of eye relief. I'm not sure I would like it on a hard kicking caliber. Overall, for the money, to put on a lower recoil rifle, I think it's great!

I had the gun on a white background, and used a hi powered flash pointed at the ceiling. Then before i uploaded it I tweaked it in gimp-2 (its a free photoshop) to make the background completely white. I just started taking pictures this way, Its the best way to take pictures of objects or items for ebay. If you want more information i was thinking of doing a video on youtube showing how to do this.
I would need to get a better camera then my canon power shot lol. Natural evening or morning light gets the best pics for me.
You might be able to get something close to this if you use the built in flash with your gun on a white background. Might take more photoshop/gimp2 work though. maybe a green screen setup would work too. . . I have never tried green screen.

Some before and after shots, I loved the realtree camo pattern but this comes close enough and WOW what a difference (: Did need some tweeking with a Timney Trigger set up FYI. And I swapped the strap and bipod after the pic incase someone was wandering..

Y'all have some pretty sharp looking rigs. All the paint schemes look great too.
For those with the Boyds, how do you like them? Has anyone been able to do some range testing with them?
