This is the third AI I own. (250/3000 Savage AI & 8mm-06 AI)
I have shot the 357/44 Bain & Davis since 1988.
My first introduction was in the early 1980s at a range in Fresno, CA where two gentlemen were shooting a Ruger Blackhawk 357 fitted with a 44 Magnum cylinder.
They were shooting the Bobcat version with cases fitted with plastic collets.
I purchased my 357/44 Bain & Davis Ackley Improved rough-cut and finish reamers from Pacific Tool & Gauge.
I simply fire form the 357/44 B&D in the improved chamber.
Post fire-forming I use a RCBS 44 Magnum carbide sizing die, a shortened Lee 357 neck sizing die, Lee 357 powder-through expanding die and a Hornady 357/44 B&D seating/crimping die.
I'm shooting this 357/44 B&D AI round in a 15" custom TC Contender barrel that was formerly 357 Magnum.
