Have a 116 in a .308 purchased in '94. It's always been a 1" or so 3 shot at 100 yds. gun. Had a 5# trigger with creep. I was getting ready to drop $ 150 on a trigger for it. Someone posted the old 3 screw when polished and adjusted make a good trigger. Have a long time friend who is a gun smith and I mentioned this to him. Said he'd never messed with a Savage but bring it by. He called the next day and asked how light did I want it? He had it at 1# and it was safe. It is now at 2.5# with no creep or over travel! He made the comment that he put in some pricey triggers that were no better than this one is now and was impressed. This old gun has a place in my heart as it was my first lefty. So to whomever posted about the trigger "Thank you".
