Dave that rifle was a custom build I did in the late 80's. It was built in the Tennessee poor boy style. The stock is wild cherry. The barrel was a 7/8" CVA .45 cal that was thinned down to 13/16" to reduce weight. The lock was an Ashmore warranted from TVA Arms and was completely reworked for smooth function. The trigger is a single set and I don't remember the maker. It is all iron mounted in poor boy style. The only glitzy thing on it is a German silver oval plate with my initials engraved . That is in the center of the cheek piece. It shoots best with a .440 ball with a .015" patch and 60 grains of FFFg. It was the first custom muzzle loader I built.
You are only limited by your imagination
Only problem with PURPLE? Too much "show and tell' at the range and not enough trigger time.
Might just as well leave the ammo at home. Love that Purple stock!!
Oz never gave nothing to the Tin Man, that he didn't already have.
That thing is wild! Definitely an attention getter
Finally got around to upgrading the factory tupperware on my Lightweight Hunter . Pattern is Fred's Monte Carlo Sporter that we put on a diet. With the factory stock it weighed in at 5.9-lbs. Now with the walnut stock and bottom metal it only went up a touch to 6lbs. 2oz., so a difference of maybe 3-4 ounces. Finished the stock with 8 applications of 100% Pure Tung Oil and multiple coats of paste wax. Was hoping that it would have darkened up more, but still looks good.

2017 Savage 22lr MK II FV c/w Vortex Crossfire 4-12*40 AO in a Boyds stock. Rifle now wears a Vortex Crossfire 6-18*44 AO.
2017 Savage Axis 25-06Rem c/w Vortex Crossfire 4-12*50 AO, in a Boyds stock.
With the original Tupperware stock, groups where 2-3" at 100yds. Boyds stock reduced groups to 1-1.5". Installed a pillar and metal mag clip kit, rifle now groups 117gr Sierras, IMR8133 @ 3100fps Sub MOA.
This Boyds stock had a warning sticker warning not to over torque the action screws. So, I installed the pillar & metal mag clip kit from V3precision.
2016 Savage Trophy Hunter 300Win Mag c/w Vortex Crossfire 2-9*40 V-Brite. Disappointed with the Factory finish, finish is starting to crack & flake around the cross bolts. Rifle likes expensive 200gr Nosler Partitions & unobtanium IMR8133.
My first rifle purchase of 2024. A Savage 'Sporter' 25-20Win, more info in the 'Vintage Section'
