Hello from California with my first Savage Mkll

Just ordered (and must wait for) a Savage Mark ll BTV. It will take about 3-4 days to get to my local FFL and another 10 days before I can 'own' it.
In the meantime i am trying to read all I can about it and how to improve it's accuracy (if needed).

Congrats on the new rifle. Will the government of Kalifornia allow you to buy/own any bullets?

Good grief....just looked into my gun safe and found a Savage Model 30 (single shot 22LR) I had bought for my grandson to shoot. I bought it in 2004 and he out grew it in 2005. I wonder if I can 'donate' it to a local NRA dinner event? Anyone have any experience in doing that?

You may be able to donate it to a kid's shooting event/training. I left Cali in 2022 and I know that they had changed the rules about doing gun raffles and give aways recently.
