Question on proper terminalogy ... gun stock design ...

I have worked on refinishing and repairing several Model 99 stocks ... all the while never knowing what to call this ...

    ( xxxxxxxxxx • PICTURE WON'T POST)
I have always referred to it as the "Teardrop" ...

What is the proper term to describe this stock accent feature ?

    Thanks for the help ....

    I really don't understand the rules I guess won't let me post a picture ... NEVERMIND !!

Have you looked at the size limits for attachments? You may need to crop and compress your photo.

With no photo, I’m going to make a blind guess at “perch belly.”

To upload a picture you need to either become a Team Savage member or use a picture hosting service like imgBB or others.

In the OP’s defense, I looked for those rules and didn’t find them. Pray tell?

Look at menu bar above forum and click on Team Savage Membership, chart shows permissions for all member levels. To eliminate confusion, I changed the word "post" to "upload". Anyone can post a pic using an offsite hosting service.

Hmmmm, not the first place I would look for such information. Thanks for that!

Are you referring to the side panels on the buttstock? Only stock thing I can think of that'd be somewhat "tear shop" shaped...

Or the schnabel forearm tip on most models? Schnabel - german word for "beak".
